Your Product Backlog is the single source of truth for all product value. Keeping it well-refined, triaged, and up to date is paramount — enabling your development team to hit the ground running and deliver high-value features every single Sprint.
We work closely with your Product Owner, stakeholders, and developers to keep your backlog refined, prioritised, and sprint-ready at all times. We achieve this by facilitating focused sessions at regular times — pinpointing business value and detailing user stories well ahead of execution.
Backlog triage
As new items arrive in the Backlog, they must be validated and organised before the wider team can refine them. While this management is continuous, we'll also facilitate dedicated Backlog Triage sessions with your Product Owner twice per Sprint to keep incoming work organised. Bugs are ranked by severity, while features are grouped into Epics and prioritised by business value and engineering effort.
During triage, we also flag items as ready for refinement, identify external dependencies, and highlight special resource requirements — laying the essential groundwork for smooth Backlog Refinement sessions.
Backlog refinement
During Backlog Refinement, we take your top candidate tasks and bugs and add the necessary detail to make them sprint-ready. This process includes reprioritising tasks as business value becomes clearer, breaking larger tickets into manageable user stories, and defining clear acceptance criteria. Once a story is fully detailed, we ask the development team to estimate the effort.
If a task is deemed too complex during refinement, we schedule a focused deep-dive session. Bringing together the Product Owner, key developers, and relevant stakeholders, these sessions allow the team to work through intricate details without disrupting the main refinement cadence.

Can we schedule additional Backlog Management sessions?
If your backlog requires additional triage or refinement sessions, we are happy to facilitate them. However, we always aim to balance thorough preparation with team productivity — over indexing on meetings can lead to fatigue, ultimately becoming counterproductive to delivery.
