We use the Scrum ceremonies to strip away the complexity of traditional workflows, allowing the team to focus solely on driving momentum. Optimised for value and transparency, these core meetings provide regular opportunities for the team to inspect, adapt, and continually refine their ways of working.
Daily Scrum
The Daily Scrum is an opportunity for the development team to walk the Sprint board and discuss individual progress toward the Sprint goal, highlight emerging blockers, and share their overall Sprint confidence.
We timebox this meeting to 15 minutes to keep discussions focused and concise. Any topics requiring deeper technical sharing are spun off into targeted, ad hoc follow-ups immediately afterward.
Sprint Planning
Each Sprint and its corresponding goal are agreed during Sprint Planning. Timeboxed to two hours, this session brings the team together to finalise the Sprint backlog based on historical velocity and what is technically possible.
Tasks are selected from refined user features, triaged bug fixes, and targeted technical debt — ensuring steady product delivery while keeping the codebase maintainable.
Sprint Review & Demo
Toward the end of each Sprint, we inspect our progress and showcase key highlights to stakeholders. This provides a clear opportunity to solidify management confidence in both the development team and the product direction.
During the review and demo, we actively gather stakeholder insights and feedback — directly feeding newly identified priorities back into the Product Backlog for future Sprints.
Sprint Retrospective
With the Sprint Review & Demo complete, we take dedicated time to inspect our processes, team dynamics, and output during the Sprint Retrospective.
Beyond driving continuous improvement, we use this session to provide space to celebrate wins, recognise team contributions, and ensure every team member has a voice to share their ideas, opinions, and concerns.

What ceremonies do you recommend?
To run an effective Sprint, we recommend the core Scrum ceremonies: Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective. We also advise scheduling at least two sessions per Sprint for Backlog Triage and Backlog Refinement.
What is 'walking the board'?
The Daily Scrum isn't just an individual status check — it's a focused discussion on progress toward the team's shared Sprint Goal. By 'walking the board' with the Sprint board visible to everyone, the team gets clear visual context on progress, active blockers, and completed items, making it easy to see how every task affects overall Sprint delivery.
What is Sprint Confidence?
As part of our Daily Scrum, we ask the team to gauge their confidence in the Sprint using a standard RAG status (red, amber, or green). Functioning like traffic lights, this metric aligns low, medium, and high confidence levels to ensure early visibility into whether the Sprint goal will be met.
What are Backlog Triage & Refinement?
Backlog Triage is the process of validating and categorising new tasks, user stories, and bugs. Conducted regularly, it ensures every ticket in your backlog offers clear business value and is ready for team refinement.
Backlog Refinement is the practice of adding detailed requirements, acceptance criteria, and potential risks to high-priority tickets — enabling developers to accurately estimate effort and prioritise items for upcoming Sprints.
